* FLY CASTING

It is the technique that is capturing more and more followers, and it is the one that offers the most opportunities to fish, which gives this modality more sport character. This technique consists in casting a lure called fly by means of a line of variable diameter commonly known by the name “running line”. At the front section, a tract of nylon called “leader” of about 3 mts. will be tied from the thickest to the thinnest. The thinnest part is called “tippet” where we will tie the fly.
There are several types of running lines, we recommend you to have at least two types, a floating line and a sinking one.

The equipment to be used in our Patagonian lakes and rivers includes  fishing rods for  weight lines  Nº 6 or 8, and reels with two spools: One with a sinking line and the other  with a floating line , which will allow you to practice with flies that float on the surface of the water, imitating small insects that naturally alight on it.
There are three fundamental factors to keep in mind; location of the trout, the selection of the appropriate fly and the presentation of it, which will be fundamental for attracting trout.
