San Martín de los Andes is located in the Southwest of Neuquén province and it preserves the charm of a typical alpine village. Set on the shores of Lake Lácar, it has a population of about 20,000 inhabitants who live in harmony with the landscape.
The city is surrounded by Lanín National Park and only 20 km to the East you will find the Chapelco Ski Resort with its excellent trails and modern lifts.
During the summer months, fishing, sailing, trekking, and rafting are all enjoyed.

Excursions
* Seven-Lake Circuit
This route links the villages of San Martin de los Andes and Villa la Angostura. Just 110 Km. of journey where we can appreciate seven wonderful mirrors of water, panoramic natural vantage points and a rainforest with cascades, flora and fauna of the region.* The Arrayán vantage point
From there you can have a delightful view of the entire waterfront of Lake Lácar and the downtown area. To get there, the road is a continuous access, amidst the thick foliage of cypresses. They journey takes one hour by car (10 km) and half a day on foot (5 Km).
* Mandolas vantage point
Setting off from the pier on Lake Lácar and going over a small bridge, we reach the main road. After a while, we get to the palisade marking the access to the lands of the Mapuche community. We get to this incredible viewpoint after a walk that crosses several roads framed by cypresses, coihues, oaks and radales. Half and hour ahead, we end up in “La Islita", a marvellous scenery with white sandy beaches and animals pasturing among fences and fruit trees.* Villa Quila Quina

The Lanín Volcano is 3.776 meters above sea level; to climb it is necessary to make it in two days and to spend the night in one of its three mountain refuges. It is almost mandatory to carry basic equipment that includes: trekking boots, pickets, crampons, energy-giving food, warm clothes, a sleeping bag, a heater, sunglasses, gloves, a first-aid kit and a lantern.When reaching the summit the volcanoes Villaruca and Male can be seen on the Chilean side; to the south the Tronador, the Punteagudo Mt and the Osorno Volcano. To the north: The Llaima volcano, the Cerro Peineta, the lakes and sometimes even the shores of the Pacific Ocean.
