The Cerro Chapelco Ski Resort is located just 20 km from San Martín de los Andes. In high season it offers a meter of snow at its base with over five thousand skiers on its slopes each day. It has twenty-nine safe runs of variable difficulty levels encompassing 140 skiable hectares, all which are clearly marked. Slopes ranging from a 20º to 45º decline and a 730-meter vertical drop. The resort typically receives a meter and a half of annual snowfall at the base and two and a half two meters at the summit. Designated practice and competitions snowboard trails are available for beginners and for experts.
